A Babson Community Garden in commemoration of Sudeeksha Bhati (2000 - 2020)
The Babson Community Garden space will be a well-designed + inclusive outdoor area for all members of the Babson community to utilize during the year. The garden will serve as a gathering place for students, professors and staff to attend events and participate in programs related to wellbeing + sustainability.
We hope the Community Garden will encourage members of the Babson community to learn more about gardening and composting. The space is also designed for group meetings and classroom sessions related to food systems, environmentalism and other natural science disciplines. Through this initiative we hope to foster more awareness and appreciation for sustainability efforts on and off campus through campus organizations and the sustainability office.
The garden will be named for Sudeeksha Bhati (2000-2020). Sudeeksha was a changemaker that dreamed big and strived to make the world a better place. She constantly worked to positively impact her community and serve others. In her honor, the community garden will commemorate her legacy and inspire Babson students for years to come.
To successfully execute this project, we need your help to cover the costs of gardening supplies, compost bins, wheelbarrows, picnic tables and a tool shed. Gifts made to this project will be directed to the Cruickshank Fund to support the creation and upkeep of the garden. We hope that you will consider making a donation today.
