In memory of Pat “the Chief” Henriques, a vital coach, educator, and mentor in the Women Innovating Now (WIN) Lab, we invite you to support the Patricia Henriques Founder Fund, newly created in her honor.
This fund began with a grant from the Patricia A. Henriques Charitable Foundation in the amount of $100,000. This generous gift has created an endowed fund that will provide scholarship seats for woman entrepreneurs participating in a WIN Lab Global venture acceleration program each year!
Our goal is to match this generous gift and double the number of scholarship seats for women business owners looking to participate in the very programs that Pat helped bring to life! We hope that you will consider making a gift to the Patricia A. Henriques Founder Fund and continue Pat's passion for empowering women entrepreneurs.
More about Patricia Henriques
Pat was a pioneer in advancing entrepreneurship as an educator, mentor, colleague, and friend in universities across the US, creating a legacy of impact for thousands of founders, executives, and students that spanned generations. An entrepreneur and CEO herself, Pat’s successful company exit led to an academic entrance where she tirelessly dedicated her time to the advancement of women’s entrepreneurial leadership through one-on-one coaching, program development, teaching, and mentorship.
Pat was an irreplaceable and unforgettable human being that left the field of women’s entrepreneurship more empowered and less apologetic than when she found it. May we all embrace our inner “chief” by being fearless and unstoppable in the pursuit of our entrepreneurial goals and destiny. -Heatherjean MacNeil
As a board member of Babson’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership (CWEL) and Entrepreneur in Residence, Pat contributed enormously to the guidance, implementation, and success of the Center’s award-winning programs. She is most notably known for her critical role in the launch of the award-winning Women Innovating Now (WIN) Lab accelerator program in Boston and Miami, which took shape in 2013 and has served over 220 entrepreneurs.
Outside of Babson’s walls, Pat also created impact for entrepreneurs at Georgetown University, Oklahoma State University, University of Utah, Syracuse University, and Simmons University.
Pat passed away on May 17, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her husband and extended family. Her students, mentees, and colleagues will profoundly miss her endless energy and undeniable passion for entrepreneurship.
Pat was a remarkable and talented woman and I feel fortunate to have gotten to know and learn from her. She will be deeply missed by all of us. -Ana María Carrano
