The Lewis Institute for Social Innovation
The Lewis Institute for Social Innovation provides experiences and resources to activate the Babson community to become changemakers.
We help our stakeholders understand who they need to be, and what they need to do, to make their desired change in the world. We inspire action around creating social impact, which we define simply as any activity that advances one or more of the UN Global Goals—the biggest challenges of our time.
Two years ago, The Lewis Institute launched the Social Innovation Inventureship. The Inventureship is a Babson paid or credit-bearing fellowship that allows our students to invent their own social innovation project that uses ET&A™ to accelerate social and economic impact. Students co-create with a sponsoring organization (or their own venture) to address a current social impact challenge. Last year, Tien Mai ’20 used an Inventureship to successfully launch the first-ever women’s hackathon in Vietnam (pictured above). Please consider supporting this powerful active learning experience.
