The Sorenson Center exposes students to a broad array of ideas, modes of expression, and artistic creation, thereby strengthening what they learn and confront in the classroom. This is accomplished through arts engagement, professional mentorship, and experiential learning to enhance students’ creativity, expand perspectives, promote empathy, and infuse creative thinking and techniques into the entrepreneurial mindset. The Sorenson Center also supports the creative and performing experiences of student organizations and affinity groups while also offering lifelong learning opportunities for the greater Babson and neighboring communities.
Programming under the BabsonARTS banner is developed in close collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Our principal goal is to encourage student engagement in the visual, literary, and performing arts to foster creativity, innovation, leadership, and personal fulfillment. We believe that creativity is a necessary and essential element of an entrepreneur’s ability to be successful in the workplace. As such, the Sorenson Center provides a unique platform for students to learn how to work collaboratively, present compelling ideas persuasively, raise cultural and visual literacy, rebound from adversity, improvise, and solve complex problems.
